Student Success Stories: Elijah
Our students are a voice for change in their schools and their community. As part of the national Jobs for America’s Graduates (or JAG) curriculum, some students are elected as officials to represent their fellow classmates. These titles range from President to Treasurer and some in between. The Coordinator of Social Awareness at Garfield Community Learning Center or CLC, Elijah, is an excellent example of a JOG student that wants to make an impact on his community.

Student success is our main goal here at Jobs for Ohio’s Graduates. That goal looks different for ever participant and every Specialist. From our 37 Core Competencies to academic growth, there are plenty of educational metrics to look at to define what success looks like. In preparation of the 2022 Leadership Development Conference, Career Specialists were able to award some of their students to be awarded the nomination for a 2022 JOG Leader of the Year to honor those students that they think best exemplify the mission of JOG through leadership qualities.
