JOG is always working hard to meet young people where they are at to bridge as many gaps as we can. In order to do this, we have expanded our services towards additional community programming. Here are a few of those programs.

GAIN WORK EXPERIENCE AND MENTORSHIP

GO PROGRAM

Build the life skills necessary for your future success! Get engaged with the Growth Opportunity (GO) program to gain meaningful support, help you focus on your education, and accelerate your career. This program provides mentorship and training on positive conflict resolution, building lasting confidence, and more! The GO Program is open to youth ages 15-18 in Akron, Ohio who who face specific obstacles to success.

YOUR NEW PATH TO EMPLOYMENT

APPALACHIAN ASCENT

JOG Appalachian Ascent connects people like you with healthcare and manufacturing workforce opportunities in Trumbull, Mahoning, and Columbiana counties by providing comprehensive professional training and employment connections, helping you prepare for and begin an in-demand career in your hometown. Being a part of the program gives you access to professional training, networking opportunities, career coaching, job-placement assistance, and much more!

MANUFACTURING CAREER SKILLS

GOOD JOBS CHALLENGE

JOG has partnered with ConxusNEO and the Greater Akron Chamber to jumpstart your career with local manufacturers! As a part of this program, you will learn essential manufacturing skills, gain guidance and support, make connections with eager employers, and be given a chance to build lasting relationships in a community of aspiring leaders!

BRIDGING GAPS THROUGH OPPORTUNITY

WE ARE A PRE-ETS VENDOR

JOG is proud to be a provider of the Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) program. This program works to help young people starting at age 14 set their personal and professional goals and create strategies to achieve them through coaching, academic support, social services, professional development and more.
