JOG’s annual Career Development Conference provides a unique opportunity for all JOG participants to partake in general sessions, competitive events, educational workshops, leadership development training, and college and career exploration. Employers, community partners, and participants can engage during the Career Development Conference through the Career Expo going on at the same time! This annual event attracts hundreds of enthusiastic participants each year, creating a dynamic space where community volunteers and professionals serve as mentors, judges, and inspirations.

Career Development Conference Competitions
This dynamic event unites students from Summit, Stark, Medina, Trumbull, and Ashland Counties, featuring up to twelve skill competitions that focus on honing soft skills cultivated through JOG’s programming, including career preparation, creative decision-making, and employability skills. The conference also serves as a recognition platform, allowing JOG participants to showcase competencies gained in the classroom through the Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) National Recognition and Competitive Events Program, along with participation in various JAG activities.

Participants Engage with Employers at the Career Expo
Employers and community partners can participate during the Career Development Conference through the Career Expo going on at the same time! The Career Expo provides lots of interactive experiences where youth practice their soft skills, explore potential career paths, and even seek employment. JOG participants who are searching for a job and impress an employer may even be interviewed at the expo!
