Student Success Story: CJ

CJ is a Shining Example of the Summer Youth Employment Program at Work!

This summer, we have been able to work alongside so many great local organizations as a part of the JOG Summer Youth Employment Program. These partnerships help young people get connected to worksites and achieve real world experiences to get work-ready. One of these students in this program is C.J.

C.J. has been working at Bunker Hill Golf Course in Medina. He joined the program to make money over the summer while on break from Brunswick High School. His role this summer has been to help keep the course clean and ready, such as cleaning up after outings on the course and at the clubhouse. C.J. is enjoying is placement this summer: “It’s nice working here! I get to help the course to work with golfers, and it’s work I feel good about at the end of the day. I love that Bunker Hill helps raise money that gets to help around Medina County. That’s so important!” He continued to go on about how he feels that the company has been a great fit for him, and he enjoys his time with Bunker Hill. Bunker Hill is a great community partner for many organizations, including JOG.

JOG recently hosted our second-annual golf outing at Bunker Hill Golf Course. When we were there, C.J. was so happy to see JOG hosting our event at the course! It was a great opportunity for him to meet some of the JOG staff from other counties and have a visual representation of our commitment to students just like him. C.J. is one of the many students who have worked with Bunker Hill through our summer youth employment program. We are very proud of our summer workforce development experiences in partnership with many businesses like Bunker Hill Golf Course, and we are thankful for another successful year  of the program.
