JOG the Web: Programs for Young Adults
Gain Career Skills and Your GED with JOG!
At Jobs for Ohio’s Graduates (JOG), we are known for our exceptional programming for students in school and out of school across Northeast Ohio, specifically for high-school aged participants. However, we also offer plenty of out-of-school options for students looking to obtain their GED as a young adult.
It can be hard to get back into a formal education structure if you haven’t been a part of it for a while. Structured classes, times, homework, tests and more all require adjustments. However, our career specialists work hard to ensure participants feel supported in our adult GED classes. These classes can supply supportive tutoring, test preparation, critical thinking, and other soft skill training. Our team of out-of-school career specialists work hard to ensure these young adults receive the foundation they need to pass their GED and also pursue what comes afterwards. This could involve prepping to take the ACT for college, career preparation training, and even assistance in choosing a career pathway that aligns with the student’s interests.
Work readiness is the next step to success with JOG. We want to make sure that students keep the skills they learned in the classroom and can translate them back to their work. For example, math skills can be applied in various fields such as algebra, but they can also teach you about engineering, cashiering, and architectural drafting. It’s not just math that can be applied; we teach a whole portfolio of life skills training! It all ties back to the cornerstone skills that participants learn in the JOG program.
All in all, the JOG program is beneficial for young adults just as much as it is for high-school aged students. Life skills are valuable, no matter the age you learn them, and it is commendable to see these young men and women pursue their own betterment. We are proud of our JOG program graduates, and we are excited to see the future achievements of our current participants!
