Jobs for Ohio’s Graduates Raises Over $10,000 at First Ever Golf Outing

[Medina, OH] – On Monday, August 21, Jobs for Ohio’s Graduates (JOG) hosted their first golf outing at Bunker Hill Golf Course, raising over $10,000 to support their programming. The event had an 18-team shotgun start along with a putting contest, 50/50 raffle, ball drop event, and additional ways to support the organization. Along with many generous sponsors and donors, the winner of the 50/50 raffle was generous enough to donate the pot back to JOG.
With the generous support of the event sponsors including Associated Underwriters Insurance, Shon Christy Social Media, Bunker Hill Golf Course, United Way of Summit and Medina, Millette & Company, Royal Union Tropical Fish, Block Bridge Capital, Red Oak Behavioral Health, Gifted Nonprofit Solutions, Fred Martin Superstore, RMD Companies LLC, University Electric Inc., and Russ Balthis, JOG was raised over $10,000 to support its programming and help shorten the gap between local youth and their barriers to their academic and career goals.
Shon Christy, President of Shon Christy Media, expressed, “I was honored to not only golf but sponsor the first JOG golf outing. From the moment I stepped onto the course, the event exceeded my expectations. The JOG staff and the team at Bunker Hill provided an excellent customer experience for all! There is no better feeling than having fun with friends while doing good in the community. I am already looking forward to next year’s event.”
Since 1987, JOG has lived its mission of helping youth with multiple barriers to success complete their education and successfully transition to employment at a livable wage or post-secondary job training for youth ages 14-24. They help over 1,500 participants in Medina, Stark, Summit, Trumbull, and Ashland Counties achieve their educational and career goals each year!
